In a session that combined reflection with actionable insight, the Fellows of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA) engaged in a Fireside Chat with Mrs. Adebimpe Ayo-Elias, Director of Human Resources and Administration at Airtel Networks Ltd. The discussion centered on leadership, personal accountability, and the deliberate choices that define a successful career.
“Leadership is not given. It is claimed, honed, and lived. Every decision you make, every opportunity you take, shapes not just your career but the kind of leader you will become” She added.
Drawing from her extensive experience, she urged the Fellows to take initiative and approach opportunities intentionally.
“Don’t wait for permission to lead. Step forward, own your space, and be purposeful in everything you do” she advised.
A significant part of the conversation focused on aligning purpose, passion, and potential. Mrs. Ayo-Elias emphasised the importance of self-awareness in building a reputation.
“Reputation isn’t announced; it is built quietly, day by day, through consistent action and integrity” she noted.
Fellows left the session with a renewed sense of clarity and direction. “It’s one thing to hear about leadership in theory,” said one Fellow, “but to learn from someone who has walked the path and led with impact makes it real. I feel motivated to take ownership of my journey and lead with confidence”.
The session reinforced LJLA’s commitment to nurturing leaders who approach societal challenges with intention, accountability, and purpose.
