The Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy(LJLA) held a fireside chat with the Chief Executive Officer of Kora, Mr. Dickson Nsofor, as part of its ongoing leadership development engagements for fellows.

Mr. Nsofor, who leads one of Africa’s notable financial technology infrastructure companies, spoke to the fellows about responsibility, focus and discipline in leadership. He encouraged them to adopt what he called a “possibility mentality” explaining that leaders must believe in the feasibility of their goals and be willing to take on demanding tasks.

He stated that leadership is earned through responsibility, adding that individuals who seek to lead must be prepared to work in challenging environments and handle pressure.
According to him, excellence and consistency remain key requirements for anyone aiming to succeed in today’s competitive landscape.

During the session, Mr. Nsofor also highlighted the role of time and persistence in achieving long-term goals. He noted that many ambitions fail because people quit too early, and urged the fellows to remain committed to their objectives.

The LJLA Executive Secretary, Mrs. Ayisat Agbaje-Okunade, described the session as an important part of the Academy’s leadership development approach.

“At LJLA, we are intentional about raising leaders who can take responsibility and drive impact. Conversations like this challenge our fellows to see leadership beyond titles and understand the depth of responsibility that comes with it” she said.

A vote of thanks was delivered by fellow Anita Oluwasegun, who expressed appreciation for the session and the clarity it provided.

“We are grateful for the honesty and depth of the conversation. Mr. Nsofor shared lessons that will remain relevant as we continue our leadership journey” she added.

The fireside chat speaker series forms part of the Academy’s continuing efforts to expose fellows to practical leadership experiences and insights from industry leaders.
